Covid-19 Safety Protocols – March 2021

008 Villa Covid-19 Safety Protocols. Alert Level 1 - Effective 28th February 2021.

On the 28th February 2021, the President of South Africa moved the country to Alert Level 1 which effectively reopens the economy and most normal activities may resume.

International borders are open for tourists and entry requirements are a negative PCR test taken within 72 hours of arrival and proof of medical insurance for the duration of your stay.

In response to the lowering of restrictions and to ensure the safety, comfort and wellbeing for our guests and staff, 008 Villa has adjusted our precautionary measures as follows:


  • Ongoing education on the Covid-19 virus, how it is transmitted, symptoms, personal hygiene
  • Ongoing training in the use of sanitation products, personal hygiene and the use of PPE
  • Social distancing practices will be in place during shifts


  • Hand sanitizing stations are located at all entrances
  • Persons entering the villa are required to fill in a logbook
  • Luggage and deliveries will be disinfected prior to entering the villa


  • The villa will be thoroughly sanitized and bedrooms sealed prior to arrival
  • Complimentary face masks and hand sanitizer will be available for guests


  • Ozone machines are used when servicing bedrooms
  • Alcohol based sanitizers are used for surface cleaning
  • Bedrooms are sealed after sanitation
  • Regular routine cleaning will be done in communal areas
  • PPE will be worn at all times during the servicing of the villa
  • Social distancing will be in place when servicing the villa
  • Linen and toweling is washed, dried and pressed at high temperatures
  • Guest laundry will be limited to items that can be washed and dried at high temperatures
  • Unnecessary tangibles have been removed from all areas

Food & Beverage

  • Food and beverage deliveries will be disinfected prior to entering the property
  • Food packaging will be left in place where possible
  • Prepared food will be offered in single plated portions
  • Staff will adhere to strict hygiene protocols during the preparation of food
  • Crockery and cutlery will be cleaned in a dishwasher set at a high temperature wash cycle


  • No events or functions will be permitted
  • Small family gatherings allowed
